Emissions Reduction Planning

Climate Pollution Reduction Program

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG) program provides funding to states and metropolitan areas to develop and implement plans for reducing harmful air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.  The TN Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) is currently developing a statewide emissions reduction plan.  GNRC is serving as the lead planning entity to develop a regional plan for the Nashville-Davidson-Franklin-Murfreesboro Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA).

Through the planning process, GNRC will work with regional and local partners to develop and prioritize implementation measures to reduce harmful air pollution and greenhouse gases.  Implementation measures identified in the local and state plans will be eligible to apply for $4.6 billion in competitive implementation grants.

Tennessee Volunteer Emission Reduction Strategy

GNRC is coordinating working closely with local governments, public agencies, environmental stakeholders, and members of the general public to assist TDEC in the development of the Tennessee Volunteer Emissions Reduction Strategy (TVERS).  A fact sheet about the program is available for download by clicking here.
